August 2020 – Asundered!

Yes, I am aware asundered isn’t a word, but I don’t care! My website, my word rules. Ha! Anyway, welcome to my monthly wrap-up article! Let’s see what went down in my online life during these past 28-31 days…

And another month in 2020 bites the dust! The drama and despair that continues to assault our global society just seems… even more unreal. If anyone ever needs anyone to talk to, I’m here for ya!

We all got this. Love wins and we are only ever guaranteed to have a today. Make the best out of whatever life throws at you!

Gaming Goodness

Here’s where I spent all my precious gaming time this month!

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (Done and Platinumed!)

I’m with you, girl! I never liked balls much either.

I’ve said it a few times and I’ll say it again: I freaking love Evie Frye’s character! I’ll never forget her telling the dress she hated wearing to “Requiescat in Pace” like Ezio says to his targets. This was an amazing game that took up the majority of my free time in August.

Thief Gold (In Progress)

I’ve had this game on the go for a few – *checks calendar* wow! – months, apparently. Stealth games aren’t my area of expertise, to say the least. I’m more of a brute force punching kinda gal, but every once in a while a stealth game will click with me. This one definitely has!

I’ve never had an interest in playing Thief series before now. Garrett (the thieving protagonist) is really special to a cool new friend I met recently who gifted me the games on Steam. If a game is special to someone I know, I will always approach it with an open mind!

I am shamelessly cheating with a guide and taking my time, but enjoying every mission thus far. There’s a certain charm to the game that’s hard to put into words. I last completed The Mage Towers mission.

Reading Rambling

Working With People I Want to Punch in the Throat by Jen Mann

Not exactly sure how I ended up finding out about this book (might have been during one of my daily meme hunts), but I’m loving it so far. Jen Mann is so sarcastic and she swears a lot while she talks about some of the jerks she’s encountered in her life. A woman after my own heart! Will most likely be picking up the other books in the series after I finish this one.

Fast Future Fun

Blogging – I’m going to resume posting answers to the Blaugust Promptapalooza 2020 prompts in September. I’m calling it Bleptember! Other than that, we shall see what happens here.

Gaming – After I wrap up Thief Gold I’m going to dive into two FMV games the lovely Later Levels kindly gifted to me: Her Story and The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker. I’ve never played a FMV game before in my life, and I can’t say it looks like a genre I’d enjoy based on the ones I’ve seen Kim play on her stream. But I made her play Final Fantasy XIII so giving these two FMV games a series chance is the least I can do to make up for it…

Also, I will be starting my next platinum trophy quest for Mass Effect 3. It’s the only platinum missing from my Mass Effect series trophy collection. I also have some plans to try and platinum some of the Dragon Age games before 4 comes out. And I really, really need to play The Outer Worlds so I can meet a certain awesome asexual companion character.

Life – Keep on surviving the coronapocalypse and being grateful for the cool friends I have in my life!

  1. Whoa, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying my reviews that much! Thanks for the shout-out. The Final Fantasy Legend was a great game for its time, but it hasn’t exactly aged well. Still, I think the amount of ambition it has is pretty impressive given that I doubt anyone was really taking portable gaming as seriously as console or PC gaming in 1989.
