Seriously Geeky Sundays: Father Figures

Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s and dad-like figures out there! I appreciated the reminder this post gave me since I totally forgot… oops! I should probably send my dad a meme via email or something to celebrate .

I love my mom too, but my dad and I are so similar it’s scary funny. We have the same sarcastic sense of humor, we had a blast playing pranks on my mom when I was a kid, and we just generally get each other on an unspoken level. He’s honestly more like a big brother than a dad to me. I’m sure he forgot it was Father’s Day too. 😂

Anyway, the awesome Heather over at Just Geeking By started a series of blogging prompts called Seriously Geeky Sundays. This week is all about dads in honor of the day. Definitely check out Heather’s creative prompts and take part in the fun if you want! I’m absolutely loving her questions so far.

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s paternal questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!

Play-Along: To the Moon (Act 3)

And that’s a game… sorta! The SigCorp Minisodes 1 & 2 DLC is up for discussion next in this great Play-Along event hosted by Time to Loot, but the main game has reached the emotional epic conclusion I heard so much hype about.

Was it sad? Did I cry? I’m not admitting anything… sniffs.

You can also check out my answers to Act 1 and Act 2 if you’re at all interested in my thoughts on the whole game.

So let’s jump right into this! Thank you to the awesome Naithin for putting this event together.

!!!SPOILER WARNING!!!

This goes Without SAying, probably, but just in case: I will be answering questions about ACT 3 of to the MOON and The rest of this article will Totally Ruin the game if you haven’t played it yet!

Seriously Geeky… Um, Saturday: Warriors

Oops! I missed another blogging community event deadline during my recent online leave of absence. Time to fix that by doing a double feature of Serious Geeky Sundays by Just Geeking By this weekend. Sorry for the lateness of this post!

Heather’s questions for this Sunday last Sunday are all about warriors. The topic was inspired by the June 6th, 1944 D-Day landing of the Allied Forces on the beaches of Normandy during World War II.

Humanity just doesn’t learn from our painful history, do we? To say the very least, the ugly face of fascism seems to be making a disturbing reappearance in our modern world. We got this, though. Never stop fighting for justice, equality, and peace. Black Lives Matter!

You can’t hide now
I am the warrior
So decide now
How they’ll remember you
Do not hide now
Act like a warrior
Show your pride now
Solidify your place in time

Lyrics from the song “Warrior” by Disturbed

And yep, I’ll be listening to that song while wrting this post. RAWR!

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s combative questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!

Play-Along: To the Moon (Act 2)

Yes!! I’m actually meeting a deadline for a blogging event this week. For those unaware, the great website Time to Loot is hosting a Play-Along event of the depressingly great game called To the Moon. I literally just finished Act 2 like 5 minutes ago so hopefully I’ll be able to answer the questions easily since it’s fresh in my memory banks.

You can check out my answers to Act 1 here, by the way.

Thank you to the awesome Naithin for putting this event together, and for also being really understanding about me missing the deadline for the first week! ❤

Play-Along Late: To the Moon (Act 1)

Better super late than never, amiright? I, um, hope so… I was really excited to join in on Naithan of Time the Loot’s Play-Along collaboration of To the Moon when he announced it a few weeks ago. I had Act 1 of the game all played on time, watched the freaking fantastic Later Levels stream it that Saturday too, and was all set to answer those brilliant questions in post due June 5th.

Alas, that never happened. My brain decided to dredge up its’ tired old drama and hit me with a tsunami of feelings just when I was in the happiest place of my life. Go figure.

Seriously Geeky Sundays: What makes you smile?

Ah, smiling legitimately is one of the best feelings ever!! I’ve worn millions of fake smiles to get through many hard days, but there’s nothing like the real thing to boost my mood, as rare as that is sometimes.

The awesome Heather over at Just Geeking By started a series of blogging prompts called Seriously Geeky Sundays. This week is all about appreciating the things that make us smile in honor of National Smile Day. Definitely check out Heather’s creative prompts and take part in the fun if you want! I’m absolutely loving her questions so far.

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s smiley questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!

May 2020 – Asundered!

Yes, I am aware asundered isn’t a word, but I don’t care! My website, my word rules. Ha! Anyway, welcome to my monthly wrap-up article! Let’s see what went down in my online life during these past 28-31 days…

And another month bites the dust! Wow. I can’t comprehend the flow of time during this coronapocalypse era. Just gotta take ‘er one day at a time, eh!

Ignoring the present world disasters, this month’s personal theme has been all about letting go of the past’s drama. I’ve found myself in the tough position of having to work with a huge old demon for an interesting future opportunity. Could my dark past be the path to my bright future? Who knows. If it works out, I’ll tell y’all about it. For now, my lips are sealed.

On another front, finally accepting that I’ve totally screwed up with someone I love, feelings are difficult for everyone to deal with, and that some bridges just can’t be rebuilt has brought me closer to true inner peace at last. I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long, long time because of these realizations. And for that, I am eternally grateful. Thanks for sorta being on my side for once, brain!
