Seriously Geeky Sundays: Romance is in the air

Ugh. International Kissing Day… bah humbug! You crazy kids get offa my lawn with your kissing each other and whatnot.

Kidding! Back before I figured out my sexual orientation, I hated seeing anything to do with romance, to be honest. I’ve never truly desired kissing or sex, and I felt so alone for feeling that way. Thankfully, I got all my love shizz figured out these days!

Did you know? Sexual and romantic attraction are two different things in our brains! They usually align together for most humans, but not always. I’m have no desire for kissing or sex with any gender (asexual), but I do experience the other romantic feelings for rare people of any gender I bond with on a deep emotional level (demiromantic).

I have realized I do want a life partner, but haven’t had very much luck in that love area. The two people I’ve developed my true demiromantic feelings for didn’t return that love, and both chose other people to have a romantic relationship with over me (ow, my poor fragile self-worth). The people who have been attracted to me… well, sadly I felt nothing for them.

Romance is not something to be jealous of, silly brain. I’ve never had a romantic partner and there’s absolutely no rush or need to have one. I’d much rather be alone forever than trapped with someone I don’t truly love and can’t be myself around. Stop being so pushy on single people, society.

Enough about my lack of love life! The awesome Heather over at Just Geeking By started a series of blogging prompts called Seriously Geeky Sundays. This week is all about that romance thing. Definitely check out Heather’s creative prompts and take part in the fun if you want! I’m absolutely loving her questions so far.

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s lovey questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!

June 2020 – Asundered!

Yes, I am aware asundered isn’t a word, but I don’t care! My website, my word rules. Ha! Anyway, welcome to my monthly wrap-up article! Let’s see what went down in my online life during these past 28-31 days…

Hello, nice sunny summer weather! That’s something positive in a sea of never-ending depressing news, for sure. Ugh… dat news, tho.

Racism, fascism, pandemics, mass murders, once beloved billionaire authors are actually ignorant TERFs, meth-gators… what the actual fuck, 2020? I’m forcing myself to stop paying attention to everything and just lolsob in frustrated anger in all directions. At least my own personal problems seem pretty freaking insignificant nowadays. Those have been flaring up again too, sadly.

This year is extra challenging for almost every human roaming the earth. People are needlessly dying and hate seems to be rising, but we got this! We will get through this. Good will always win at the end of the day. Keep fighting for what’s right, support who you can, and love will prevail in the end. Black lives matter!! Trans lives matter!!

This whole blogging thing is certainly becoming more and more important to me as the months go on. Here’s the recap of what went down in Ace Asunder’s 4th month of existing on the internet!

Seriously Geeky Sundays: Technology

Happy birthday Alan Turing!

Turing, for those unaware, was an awesome British mathematician, computer scientist, logician, cryptanalyst, philosopher, and theoretical biologist. He is widely known as the father of modern computing to boot. I owe him quite a lot of thanks, then!

Those who can imagine anything, can create the impossible.

Alan Turing

I can’t imagine my life without computers, technology, and the super important online friend connections I’ve met via social media. Also, excuse me for a few minutes while I gawk in awe at the fancy new gaming PC I built last weekend.

And I’m back! The awesome Heather over at Just Geeking By started a series of blogging prompts called Seriously Geeky Sundays. This week is all about fictional technology in honor of Turing’s birthday. Definitely check out Heather’s creative prompts and take part in the fun if you want! I’m absolutely loving her questions so far.

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s techy questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!

Play-Along: To the Moon (Minisode 1 and 2)

Time to Loot’s official Play-Along of To the Moon collaboration is now complete! The two Minisode DLC packs are very, very short (putting the “mini” in “minisode” for sure), yet offer so many complex questions about this game’s universe. Hm.

Whoa is right, Neil…

So let’s jump right into this and answer the two final event questions! Many, many thanks to the awesome Naithin for putting this event together. It was a great excuse to finally play this game! You can also check out my answers to Act 1, Act 2 and Act 3 if you’re at all interested in my thoughts on the whole game.

!!!SPOILER WARNING!!!

This goes Without SAying, probably, but just in case: The rest of this article will Totally Ruin To The Moon if you haven’t played it yet!

The Great Blog Crawl: Redux and Rescheduled

2020, Year of… just hurry up and be 2021 already. Ahem.

Due to the recent, um, catastrophes and injustices plaguing our world, Later Levels and I decided to move the stream date for The Great Blog Crawl Virtual Pub Event. There were plights needed more attention and it just didn’t feel right to celebrate while the good fight for equality spread across the globe (#BlackLivesMatter!!).

So update your calendars! We’ve moved the stream date to July 18th, 2020. Head on over to the Later Levels Twitch channel then, and we’ll drink, play video games, and divvy out all the shiny quiz awards!

Seriously Geeky Sundays: Father Figures

Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s and dad-like figures out there! I appreciated the reminder this post gave me since I totally forgot… oops! I should probably send my dad a meme via email or something to celebrate .

I love my mom too, but my dad and I are so similar it’s scary funny. We have the same sarcastic sense of humor, we had a blast playing pranks on my mom when I was a kid, and we just generally get each other on an unspoken level. He’s honestly more like a big brother than a dad to me. I’m sure he forgot it was Father’s Day too. 😂

Anyway, the awesome Heather over at Just Geeking By started a series of blogging prompts called Seriously Geeky Sundays. This week is all about dads in honor of the day. Definitely check out Heather’s creative prompts and take part in the fun if you want! I’m absolutely loving her questions so far.

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s paternal questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!

Play-Along: To the Moon (Act 3)

And that’s a game… sorta! The SigCorp Minisodes 1 & 2 DLC is up for discussion next in this great Play-Along event hosted by Time to Loot, but the main game has reached the emotional epic conclusion I heard so much hype about.

Was it sad? Did I cry? I’m not admitting anything… sniffs.

You can also check out my answers to Act 1 and Act 2 if you’re at all interested in my thoughts on the whole game.

So let’s jump right into this! Thank you to the awesome Naithin for putting this event together.

!!!SPOILER WARNING!!!

This goes Without SAying, probably, but just in case: I will be answering questions about ACT 3 of to the MOON and The rest of this article will Totally Ruin the game if you haven’t played it yet!

Seriously Geeky… Um, Saturday: Warriors

Oops! I missed another blogging community event deadline during my recent online leave of absence. Time to fix that by doing a double feature of Serious Geeky Sundays by Just Geeking By this weekend. Sorry for the lateness of this post!

Heather’s questions for this Sunday last Sunday are all about warriors. The topic was inspired by the June 6th, 1944 D-Day landing of the Allied Forces on the beaches of Normandy during World War II.

Humanity just doesn’t learn from our painful history, do we? To say the very least, the ugly face of fascism seems to be making a disturbing reappearance in our modern world. We got this, though. Never stop fighting for justice, equality, and peace. Black Lives Matter!

You can’t hide now
I am the warrior
So decide now
How they’ll remember you
Do not hide now
Act like a warrior
Show your pride now
Solidify your place in time

Lyrics from the song “Warrior” by Disturbed

And yep, I’ll be listening to that song while wrting this post. RAWR!

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s combative questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!
