Seriously Geeky Sundays: Technology

Happy birthday Alan Turing!

Turing, for those unaware, was an awesome British mathematician, computer scientist, logician, cryptanalyst, philosopher, and theoretical biologist. He is widely known as the father of modern computing to boot. I owe him quite a lot of thanks, then!

Those who can imagine anything, can create the impossible.

Alan Turing

I can’t imagine my life without computers, technology, and the super important online friend connections I’ve met via social media. Also, excuse me for a few minutes while I gawk in awe at the fancy new gaming PC I built last weekend.

And I’m back! The awesome Heather over at Just Geeking By started a series of blogging prompts called Seriously Geeky Sundays. This week is all about fictional technology in honor of Turing’s birthday. Definitely check out Heather’s creative prompts and take part in the fun if you want! I’m absolutely loving her questions so far.

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s techy questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!

Seriously Geeky Sundays: Family

Oh, crap… It’s Mother’s Day here in Canada. I should probably contact my mom in some form after this, eh? I’m not even sure what year it is anymore so I’m sure she’ll understand. Plus I can pull the corona card to avoid a rushed visit. Ha! But yeah, family.

Family is a bit of a, um, “complex concept” for me. I’ll spare the drama details, but I only have my parents and my two cats to call family. Just because you’re related to people by blood doesn’t mean you have to refer to them as family. Sometimes you just gotta let go of the toxic people who don’t really want you in their lives. Besides, true friends who become like family are infinitely more awesome than forced blood ties. I’m grateful to have quite a few of those cool true friends, both online and offline. Thank you ❤

Seriously Geeky Sundays: Freedom of the Press

Happy World Press Freedom Day! A free and independent source of information is essential for all societies. When governments start meddling with the freedom of media, bad and dangerous things happen. That’s why it’s so, so freaking important we take out idiot leaders across the world when they start discrediting the media for stupid narcissistic reasons. Not mentioning any names.

The awesome Heather over at Just Geeking By started a series of blogging prompts called Seriously Geeky Sundays. This week is all about the fictional press in honor of this important day. Definitely check out Heather’s creative prompts and take part in the fun if you want! I’m absolutely loving her questions so far.

So… without anymore intro babbling from me, here are my answers to Just Geeking By’s newsworthy questions for this week. Thank you, Heather!

Quantic Foundry Gamer Motivation Profile

I normally game with my heart and not so much my head. That’s pretty much how IRL Solarayo operates in general too. I’ve always been ruled by my oversensitive emotions, and to my despair, my logic often gets lost in all the internal chaos and whatnot. I’ve proudly grown A LOT in the past year, though. My new motto is: “Always follow my heart… under constant supervision of my brain.”

Back to the logic, and dialing back the feelz, the magnificent MagiWasTaken over at Indiecator kindly nominated me for this Quantic Foundry Gamer Motivation Profile tag thingy. Thank you very much, dude!

Basically, you take a survey about your gaming habits via Quantic Foundry and analyze the results with the questions in the tag. Logic isn’t something I usually apply to my beloved video gaming hobby, but hey, I’ll give it a go. For gamer science!
